The Gee Creek rest area, 11 miles north of the Columbia River on the northbound side of Interstate 5, is closed for routine annual maintenance through 8 p.m. today. The closure began at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday.
The next rest area for northbound motorists is 43 miles away, near the Toutle River.
