WASHINGTON (AP) — Thierry Henry scored twice in the first half, and Bouna Coundoul got his second shutout of the season Thursday night as the New York Red Bulls beat D.C. United 4-0 to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Henry had goals in the 12th and 38th minutes, both with assists from Jan Gunnar Solli. Joel Lindpere netted in the 76th, and substitute Juan Agudelo scored in second half injury time as the Red Bulls attack turned prolific after scoring only five goals in its first five games.

The loss ended a three-game unbeaten run for United, shut out for the first time this season.
