Hudson’s Bay holding prom dress drive

In lieu of the suspended Operation Fairy Godmother program this spring, Hudson’s Bay High School is collecting gently worn or new prom dresses and suitable accessories to help students challenged by high costs.

“Dreams Coming Alive” is a prom dress drive and giveaway sponsored by the Hudson’s Bay Key Club and National Honor Society. It is open to high school students in Vancouver Public Schools.

Through April 29, suitable dresses, shoes and accessories will be gathered at Hudson’s Bay, 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd. Hangers, clothes racks, mirrors, and plastic bags also are needed. Organizers also seek donations of perfume, hair care products, makeup and jewelry for raffle prizes.

The dress event takes place from noon to 3 p.m. April 30 in the Hudson’s Bay Commons.

All Vancouver high school girls are invited. There is no cost for dresses and other items, but student identification is required.

Volunteers are needed for the day of the event. Set-up begins at 10:30 a.m. and clean-up will run through 4 p.m.
