LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Electric Daisy Carnival and its towering Ferris wheel, celebrity disc jockeys and pulsating lights is moving to Las Vegas.

The largest electronic music party in the United States is relocating its popular multi-day festival from Los Angeles to a desert site 14 miles from the Las Vegas Strip in a move heralded by Sin City leaders.

Electronic music heavyweights Tiesto, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia will ignite the crowd at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Las Vegas blowout being held on June 24 through 26.

But critics warn that Las Vegas is ignoring the festival’s darker side. A 15-year-old girl died of an Ecstasy overdose after last year’s event in L.A. and more than 226 people needed emergency medical treatment.
