GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Amare Stoudemire is in the starting lineup for the New York Knicks, but Chauncey Billups will miss Game 3 of the first-round playoff series with a knee injury.

Stoudemire took part in the Knicks’ morning shootaround Friday, then received further treatment later in the day after he was forced to miss the second half of Boston’s Game 2 victory because of back spasms.

Stoudemire said after the game it was the first time he had experienced that injury, and his ability to deal with the pain could determine how effective he will be if he does play.

Billups missed his second straight game after straining his left knee in Game 1 on Sunday. Toney Douglas again got the start at point guard, and the Knicks are uncertain if Billups will be available Sunday for Game 4.
