Addis Assistant Police Chief David Jones said 54-year-old Ann Hope Browne, of Zachary, was attempting to merge onto Louisiana Highway 1 on Friday when her car was struck in the driver’s side by a pickup truck.

West Baton Rouge Parish coroner’s investigator Yancy Guerin said Browne was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said two adults and four children in the truck escaped injury.
