Letter: Easter lessons will last forever

It is Easter, a celebration of spring and new things. New clothes, baby chicks and bunnies, eggs, candy, and brunch fill this holiday. To Christians, it is a time to celebrate Jesus Christ.

When examining Jesus Christ, one can see a sacrificial Middle Easterner, not an Anglo-Saxon. He taught of God’s love and going the extra mile for others. He then sacrificed his own life. At Easter, Christians celebrate his resurrection.

Many Americans identify as Christians but not specific followers of Christ, others identify as followers of him and still others choose non-Christian faiths or none at all. While non-Christian faiths usually outline certain actions that lead to salvation, the followers of Christ find their salvation in him, leading to certain actions. Jesus Christ said he was God in the flesh. No matter what one believes or does not believe, spring, faiths and Jesus Christ will continue for generations to come.
