BEND, Ore. (AP) — The National Weather Service has added localized weather forecasts for the Bend Municipal Airport in central Oregon, giving pilots more accurate information further in advance.
The Bulletin newspaper in Bend says the localized forecasts provide information about cloud height, visibility, precipitation and winds.
The forecasts — known to pilots as terminal aerodrome forecasts — are provided by the weather service office in Pendleton.
Six other airports in the Pendleton office’s coverage area already receive the forecasts — including Redmond, Pendleton and Yakima, Wash.
