Homeowners interested in learning about low-maintenance, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional lawns can attend a free workshop, 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 4 at Three Creeks Library, 800-C N.E. Tenney Road.

Space is limited for “Park the Mower: Alternatives to Lawn.” To register, go to http://stormwaterpartners.com and click on “stay informed,” or call 360-882-0936, ext. 223.

Vanessa Gardner Nagel of Seasons Garden Design will discuss drought-resistant plants, use of noninvasive plants, low-mow grasses and pet- and child-friendly options for yards.

The workshop’s sponsor, Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington, is a consortium of Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield and Vancouver.
