ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Although the Anaheim Ducks are smarting from their first-round ouster from the playoffs, they’re still proud of the late-season rally that got them to the postseason.

They’re also hoping two pieces of good news this summer will set them up for another run at the Stanley Cup next fall.

The futures of Teemu Selanne and goalie Jonas Hiller are the biggest offseason questions for Anaheim, which was knocked out of the playoffs in six games by the Nashville Predators.

With a skill-laden roster led by NHL goal-scoring champion Corey Perry, the Ducks again were among the league’s most entertaining teams. That talent didn’t lead to playoff success, which has general manager Bob Murray wondering whether he should keep this core together.
