FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a pickup truck traveled more than 10 miles on Interstate 5 on just three tires before a trooper stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for investigation of drunken driving.

Trooper Julie Startup says the truck apparently struck a barrier in Pierce County but kept heading north on Sunday. Witnesses reported seeing the pickup traveling at high speeds.

Trooper David Roberts says he knew something was amiss from the angle of the truck. When he stopped the driver, he found the right front tire was completely ground down to the lug nuts.

The State Patrol says the driver, Adam Jones of Savannah, Ga., was released to his commanding officer at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
