KENT, Wash. (AP) — A King County Superior Court judge has ordered a mental evaluation for a Tacoma man accused of taking an 8-year-old girl from a Federal Way school playground.

The order Wednesday postpones the arraignment for 28-year-old Benjamin H. Trinh. He’s charged with kidnapping with sexual motivation.

The girl was gone more than three hours April 11 before she was dropped off near her home.

Trinh was arrested the next day after his photo was recognized by an employee of a store where he took the girl shopping. Probable cause documents say he made the girl watch a pornographic movie and engage in sexual acts.

The News Tribune reports that family members told investigators that Trinh has mental health issues.
