LONDON (AP) — A Premier League defender is latest player cited by English soccer authorities for comments on Twitter.

The remark was made by West Ham’s Danny Gabbidon, whose team is in danger of relegation to a lower division. After West Ham lost to Aston Villa this month, Gabbidon used an expletive on Twitter in response to criticism.

Gabbidon added: “U will never get another tweet from me again u just don’t get it do you. Bye bye.”

The Football Association cited Gabbidon on Thursday with “improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute” over his April 16 tweet.

On April 14, the FA cited Gabbidon’s teammate Carlton Cole for his jokes on Twitter about Ghanian immigrants. He was fined nearly $33,000.
