SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Frank Gore will have another young runner to groom with the San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco added depth to its backfield Saturday, selecting Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter with the 115th overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL draft — the first of the Niners’ eight picks on the draft’s final day.

Gore might even get a kick out of the kid’s pregame routine: a regular 10-minute power nap leading up to kickoff.

While Hunter was chosen a couple of rounds lower than he had envisioned, he is used to having to prove himself at 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds.

The 49ers certainly were looking to boost a position where they were lacking without Gore late last season.

He went down with a season-ending fractured hip on Nov. 29.
