RENTON, Wash. (AP) — When John Schneider connected with K.J. Wright on the phone Saturday, he expected a reaction of excitement from the Mississippi State linebacker.

Instead, Wright was quiet and very reserved, an odd reaction for someone just taken in the fourth-round of the NFL draft.

The reason: Wright was in the middle of his graduation ceremonies at Mississippi State when the Seahawks called.

Wright was the first of two fourth-round picks for the Seahawks. Later in the round, Seattle grabbed tall Georgia receiver Kris Durham, who has spent part of the offseason working out with Charlie Whitehurst, the only quarterback the Seahawks have under contract.

Seattle had five remaining picks in the final three rounds.
