Business name: Clark County Lawn & Tractor.

Manager: Kevin Williquette.

Address: 17900 N.E. 72nd Ave.

What the business does: Clark County Lawn & Tractor is an outdoor power equipment dealer and also provides service and parts for the products it sells. The company carries commercial and consumer equipment from several major suppliers, including tractors, small utility vehicles, and home and commercial mowers.

How has the economy affected your business: Kevin Williquette said that his business has slowed down over the past few years. He has seen a big shift in how people are spending. People are more likely to repair their current equipment rather than replace it.

Greatest challenge: Being able to adjust to the swings in business volume, whether up or down, Williquette said. The company has avoided layoffs but is leaner now after reducing staff through attrition.

What’s ahead: This year, Williquette plans to run periodic promotions aimed at spurring sales. He said the company is focusing on selling and repairing John Deere products by having a large inventory and promising quick delivery.
