Ore. soldier killed in Afghanistan

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — A soldier from Douglas County has been killed in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense confirmed Tuesday that 24-year-old Sgt. Joshua A. Lengstorf of Yoncalla was one of three Fort Carson soldiers killed in an attack by insurgents.

They were assigned to Fort Carson’s 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, part of the 4th Infantry Division.

The News-Review newspaper of Roseburg reports that Lengstorf graduated from Elkton High School in 2004 and leaves behind a wife and 14-month-old daughter.
