Hudson’s Bay — High fliers and big dreamers are learning about the aviation industry close up and personal thanks to RSV Building Solutions, a Vancouver construction company. The business is sponsoring the 2011 Captain Al Coupe Aviation Summer Camp at the Pearson Field. The camp, designed for ages 9 to 17, allows campers to learn the basics of aviation science. First, the campers tour the air traffic control tower and Pearson Field. They then try “buddy box” flying, which involves radio-controlled aircraft radio systems, practicing on Pearson’s flight simulators and finally taking the controls of an airplane during a graduation ceremony on the last day of camp. For more information on the aviation summer camp, visit http://www.pearsonairmuseum.org.
