ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have signed first-round draft pick Anthony Castonzo.

Castonzo, selected 22nd overall in April, is expected to protect Peyton Manning’s blind side this season when the four-time league MVP returns from neck surgery. The move comes on the second day of practice. Castonzo missed two light workouts Monday and a special teams session Tuesday morning. Coach Jim Caldwell is planning a more physical workout for Tuesday afternoon, though it’s unclear whether Castonzo will participate.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound rookie started a record 54 games at Boston College and was a third-team All-American in 2010. He is the last of Indy’s five draft picks to sign.

The team also says it has signed defensive lineman Jamaal Anderson and linebacker Ernie Sims, both former first-round picks and unrestricted free agents.
