Federal authorities and members of the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force were in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Information was sketchy.

Officials said the El Parral Mexican Restaurant and Night Club at 704 Main St., just north of Turtle Place was searched. The Turtle Place mural is on a wall of the building.

The glass in the front door was removed.

It is believed that several people were arrested and that more than one location was being targeted.

The building is owned by Main Street Partners.

Spokeswomen with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle said Wednesday afternoon that they could not comment immediately about the case.

Police officers at the scene, including Cmdr. Mike Cooke with the local drug task force, said they could not comment and could not even reveal the type of illegal drug or drugs that they were looking for in the building.
