NEW YORK (AP) — A concrete-testing laboratory is being charged with faking results for a LaGuardia Airport control tower, the new Yankee Stadium, a hospital and more than a dozen other projects around New York City.

American Standard Testing and Consulting Laboratories Inc., company President Alan Fortich and five staffers were expected to be arraigned Thursday on racketeering and other charges.

A Manhattan indictment says they “regularly skipped vital safety tests and created false reports.”

The company’s phone number is disconnected. Fortich did not immediately respond to an email message. Defense lawyers’ names were not immediately available.

The stadium and some other projects were retested after other labs were prosecuted. Officials have said no problems were found.
