TENMILE, Ore. (AP) — A Hillsboro, Ore., man who attempted to swim across a reservoir has disappeared and is presumed to have drowned.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the man, whose name was not released, was attempting to swim across the Ben Irving Reservoir in Tenmile, Ore., about 15 miles southwest of Roseburg on Wednesday.
He was about one-third of the way across the reservoir when he began to struggle and sank.
Dive teams searched for two hours without finding the man, and planned to search again on Thursday.
