NAPA, Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders star running back Darren McFadden will be sidelined about two weeks with a broken orbital bone in his face.

Coach Hue Jackson disclosed the injury on Thursday.

The Raiders were hoping to have the bulk of their team on the practice field for the first time but were missing McFadden and 14 other players with various injuries.

McFadden left practice early Wednesday with the injury. He delivered a hard block on linebacker Quentin Groves in one drill, but Jackson did not say if that caused the injury.

The Raiders are short-handed at running back with rookie Taiwan Jones and veteran Michael Bennett also hurt, and Michael Bush waiting to sign his restricted free agent tender.

McFadden led the team with 1,157 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
