Letter: Turlay will follow own values

In the Aug. 16 primary for Vancouver City Council, only candidate Bill Turlay both has his own independent view, and knows what it is, regarding Vancouver light rail and bridge tolls. Turlay is against light rail’s meager benefits and bridge tolling’s high costs, and he has no doubt about this.

By contrast, incumbent Pat Campbell follows the lead of five of the six other councilors who support light rail and bridge tolls.

The third candidate, Anne McEnerny-Ogle, is strangely irresolute — awaiting the outcome of an (as yet unscheduled) sales tax referendum on funding light rail operations before deciding.
