Battle Ground police are searching for a woman who allegedly struck an officer with her vehicle then led officers on a high-speed chase along several miles on Interstate 5.

The officer, whose name was not released, was struck in the hip and thigh area, but did not require medical attention, the police department said.

The incident started around 11:30 a.m., when Battle Ground Police responded to the 2000 block of West Main Street following a report of a man hitting a woman inside a silver vehicle. Upon police officers’ arrival, the suspect reentered the Volkswagen SUV and the female driver allegedly rammed an investigating officer.

The vehicle’s driver then fled into oncoming traffic and passed vehicles on the right, police alleged. The driver allegedly tried to smash law-enforcement vehicles and other vehicles, before last being seen exiting onto N.E. 134th Street after the I-5/I-205 split.

Battle Ground Police ask you contact Sgt. Armstrong at 360-342-5252 if you have information on this case.
