KRAKOW, Poland (AP) — Peter Sagan of Slovakia won the Tour de Pologne after a second-place finish in the seventh and final stage on Saturday.

Riding for Liquigas, Sagan also won the fourth and fifth stages.

Italy’s Marco Marcato with Vacansoleil-DCM placed second in the overall competition, while last year’s winner, the Irish Garmin-Cervelo rider Daniel Martin, placed third.

The last stage of the seven-day race was an 80-mile race starting and finishing in Krakow. Marcel Kittel, a German with the Skil-Shimano team, claimed victory in 2 hours and 50 minutes. He also won the first three stages.

Just behind him on Saturday were Sagan and Howard Leigh, an Australian with HTC-Highroad.
