Letter: Representative blindly follows lobby

The Columbian
Published: August 6, 2011, 5:00pm

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, campaigned on her “independence,” but then signed Grover Norquist’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge and became his lackey. As head of Americans for Tax Reform, he is the most outrageous lobbyist in D.C.

Herrera Beutler has turned against seniors with her support of Rep. Paul Ryan’s, R-Wi., plan to dismantle Medicare and turn it into a profit center for the health care industry. She has abrogated her right to represent the 3rd District. We need to recall her and replace her with someone who will work for the common good.
