PITTSBURGH (AP) — Padres third baseman Chase Headley has a broken left little finger and was not in the lineup against the Pirates on Sunday.

Headley, who leads the Padres with 43 RBIs and a .292 average, was hurt while sliding during the Padres’ 13-2 win on Saturday night. Headley was not placed on the disabled list, and the team will see how he responds over the next few days.

Logan Forsythe started at third base on Sunday for the Padres, who entered the game having scored 31 runs over winning their previous three games.
