FORKS, Wash. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a prisoner who escaped from a minimum-security work camp near Forks in northwest Washington.

Prison spokesman Chad Lewis said Sunday that 27-year-old Darby Maguire was missing when staff at Olympic Corrections Center conducted a check at 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

Maguire was convicted of three counts of third-degree assault and one count of second-degree robbery in Whatcom County. He began his prison sentence in January 2010. His prison sentence was scheduled to end July 2014.

The Olympic Corrections Center houses about 375 offenders.
