Site still not chosen for Eugene-area VA clinic
Monday, August 8, 2011
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- The Veterans administration says it is moving forward on choosing a site to build the long-awaited $40 million medical clinic serving the Eugene-Springfield area.
Kelli Witt, a VA real estate specialist, told The Register-Guard newspaper (http://bit.ly/n52Wku) she and other VA officials toured potential sites in July. She says the selection process will start to get moving in a few weeks.
Congress approved the clinic in 2009.
It is expected to employ 200 people and save people from having to travel to Roseburg for treatment.
