FORKS, Wash. (AP) — A prisoner who escaped Saturday evening from a state prison near Forks is back in custody.

The Department of Corrections says 27-year-old Darby R. Maguire was arrested Tuesday night when someone spotted him about 25 miles south of Olympic Corrections Center. He was arrested without incident by a Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy.

Corrections spokesman Chad Lewis said Maguire was tired, cold, hungry and scratched from walking through the woods.

The Peninsula Daily News reports ( http://bit.ly/ruZLj0 ) he was treated and moved to the Washington Corrections Center near Shelton.

Maguire is serving a 4-year sentence for assault and robbery convictions in Whatcom County. He could face more time if convicted of escape.
