Letter: Veterans ceremony appreciated

A medal ceremony honoring Clark County veterans who served in the Korean War was held Aug. 6 at LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park. It was put on by the Vancouver Korean War Memorial Committee. I am an 85-year-old Korean war veteran and was so pleased with the whole affair, the ceremony, the presentation of the Medal of Honor and the gifts. And would you believe it — they even served us a delicious Korean dinner.

I estimate there must have been more than 300 veterans and guests. The committee did a great job. A big thanks to the local Korean Society — they made our old soldiers’ hearts proud and thankful.
