WASHOUGAL, Wash. (AP) — Hikers have a new trail and overlook that gives them a panoramic view of the Columbia River Gorge from Cape Horn at Washougal.

KGW reports (http://bit.ly/neFZkd ) it was once the site of a million-dollar mansion. It was purchased in 2006 by Friends of the Columbia Gorge and torn down.

Friends of the Columbia Gorge will dedicate the site on Saturday, naming the outlook after Nancy Russell, the founder of the organization. The trailhead for the 8-mile trail to the overlook is off Highway 14.
