Norway, Czech teams honor massacre victims

OSLO, Norway (AP) — The Norwegian and Czech soccer teams have paid homage to the 77 people killed in last month’s attacks in Norway as they met for an exhibition.

Players on both teams wore black arm bands and held a minute’s silence before kick off Wednesday at the Oslo Ullevaal Stadium — in the first major international sports event held in Norway since the July 22 bombing and shooting rampage by a right-wing extremist.

Last month, Anders Behring Breivik detonated a car bomb outside government buildings in Oslo, killing eight people, followed by a massacre at a youth camp on an island outside the capital where he shot dead 69 others.
