BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) — Caribbean official Lisle Austin says his suspension by FIFA amid the presidential bribery scandal was conducted by a “kangaroo court” and referred to soccer’s world governing body as a “corrupt cabal of arrogance and cronyism.”

On Wednesday, FIFA’s disciplinary committee suspended Austin, an ally of former FIFA vice president Jack Warner, for breaking rules by taking his dispute with the CONCACAF confederation to a civil court in the Bahamas.

In a statement issued from Bridgetown on Thursday, Lisle said he plans to continue his action in the Bahamian court and that he has “no doubt that ultimately fairness and truth will prevail.”
