Firefighters ‘filling the boot’ in Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek
Donations from Friday event are for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Firefighters with Fire District 6 and the Vancouver Fire Department will stand at busy intersections Friday, asking motorists to ‘Fill the Boot” to collect money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
From 2:30 to 5 p.m., members of Fire District 6 will collect donations at the Interstate 5 offramps to Northeast 78th, 99th and 134th streets, according to a bulletin from Firefighter Casey Taylor.
Vancouver Fire Department firefighters will be at Northeast Highway 99 and 78th Street.
A city rule against aggressive panhandling has prevented the VFD from collecting within the city limits, as they’ve done in the past.
The county does not have a similar rule against aggressive panhandling.
