Horse kills trainer at Portland Meadows

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A trainer who was kicked in the head by a loose horse has died at the Portland Meadows race track.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/qPdfbK ) she was putting her own horse on a hot walker just outside the stables Thursday morning when she was kicked by the roaming horse.
Portland fire spokesman Paul Corah says her husband also is a horse trainer and was present at the time of the accident.
Paramedics were unable to revive the woman and she died at the scene.
