Young climber in fair condition after fall

He was rescued from Mount St. Helens

A 15-year-old climber rescued on Mount St. Helens on Wednesday was in fair condition Thursday, officials said.

The climber has been identified as Braden Crampton of Scappoose, Ore. After suffering a 100-foot fall, Crampton was rescued at Climbers Bivuoac on the southwest side of the mountain by members of the Volcano Rescue Team, Fire District 13 in Yacolt and the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

Crampton was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.
