JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Defensive end Matt Roth has signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Jacksonville, giving the Jaguars a veteran pass rusher opposite Aaron Kampman.

The line was the only defensive position Jacksonville didn’t address early in free agency. The Jaguars added linebackers Paul Posluszny and Clint Session, safety Dawan Landry and nickel cornerback Drew Coleman.

But with Kampman coming off knee surgery, the Jaguars felt like they needed to beef up a line that recorded 26 sacks in 2010.

Roth, a second-round draft pick by Miami in 2005, has 274 tackles, 20 sacks and six forced fumbles in seven seasons. He spent the last two years in Cleveland.

The team also waived punter Durant Brooks.
