LOUDON, N.H. (AP) — IndyCar rookie Pippa Mann hit the wall during a practice run for Sunday’s 225-mile race and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

She was awake and alert after being helped out of her car and walking slowly toward a stretcher Saturday.

Mann was transported by ambulance to Concord Hospital. There was no official word on whether she would compete Sunday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. She had planned to make her debut for Rahal Letterman racing.

Her car also spun on two practice runs Thursday and made contact with the tire wall in Turn 2 on the second run.

Mann finished 20th in the Indianapolis 500 for Conquest racing. It was her only other IndyCar race this year.
