CLEVELAND (AP) — Hot-hitting rookie Jason Kipnis is out of the Cleveland Indians’ tentative lineup with soreness in his right side and left-hander David Huff is scheduled to start against the Minnesota Twins.

With rain forecast, the Indians delayed officially announcing the recall of Huff from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. They must clear a roster spot for Huff by optioning a player to the minors or possibly placing outfielder Michael Brantley on the disabled list.

Brantley has not started since Tuesday because of a sore right wrist. He pinch ran Friday night.

Kipnis is hitting .279 with six homers and 11 RBIs in 18 games. The second baseman did not play Saturday when Minnesota started lefty Brian Duensing. The Twins have recalled right-hander Kevin Slowey from Triple-A Rochester to start Sunday.

Huff is 1-1 with a 0.51 ERA in three starts for Cleveland in previous callups this season.
