VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) -- A man accused of killing his girlfriend while under a no contact order pleaded not guilty Monday in Vancouver to an aggravated murder charge.

The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/qFxH1X ) Clark County Prosecutor was given until Jan. 15 -- instead of the typical 30 days -- to decide whether to seek the death penalty. Defense lawyers asked for more time to discover mitigating factors.
The 43-year-old Wolter is accused of killing 41-year-old Kori Fredericksen in May. He was covered in blood when an officer stopped him in Camas for speeding.
