Landover-Sharmel — Athletes, family members and volunteers from Clark County Special Olympics raised nearly $1,000 at a car wash in late July. Along with funds earned at an earlier car wash, the organization was able to purchase jerseys for the two new softball teams added this year. Besides raising money for Special Olympics, the car wash brought the organization an additional athlete, another coach and an invitation to participate in a parade.
