A flurry of construction activity in Vancouver will mean delays, detours and lane closures in coming weeks.

This week, some busy streets are scheduled for microsurfacing work. Among them:

• East Fourth Plain Boulevard between Falk Road and Northeast Andresen Road (Tuesday).

• Northeast Thurston Way from Northeast Fourth Plain to state Highway 500 (Tuesday).

• Main Street from West 38th Street to Northeast Highway 99 (Wednesday).

• West Fourth Plain Boulevard from Fruit Valley Road to Kauffman Avenue, (Friday).

Several other streets are also scheduled for microsurfacing this week, and the city has encouraged drivers to avoid work sites if possible. A full project list, including completed work, is available at http://cityofvancouver.us/pavement.

The city’s Eastside Water Line project also continues this week. The installation of a new water transmission line will mean lane closures in the area of Southeast McGillivray Boulevard from Southeast 136th to 164th avenues, plus Southeast 15th Street near 164th. Project information is available at http://cityofvancouver.us/eastsidewaterline.
