MILL HALL, Pa. (AP) — The Little League World Series is played on what’s considered a neutral field, though there will be a decided hometown favorite when play begins later this week.

The Mid-Atlantic region champions from Keystone Little League in Clinton County, Pa., play home games just about 30 miles southwest of the World Series complex in South Williamsport. Pennsylvania’s players have even played at the Little League complex earlier in this year’s playoffs, and in previous seasons.

After winning the regional tournament in Connecticut, Pennsylvania received a hero’s welcome when the team arrived in Williamsport on Monday with fans lining the streets and police giving the team bus an escort.

The 16-team tournament starts Thursday, and Pennsylvania debuts Friday night against LaGrange, Ky.
