SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — Police say no criminal charges will be filed against a medical marijuana grower who shot a friend mistaken for a burglar trying to break into his Springfield apartment.
The Register Guard reports (http://bit.ly/oObRW6) the two had returned from a night on the town early Saturday and a 40-year-old left but came back because he had forgotten his keys. After receiving no answer to a knock on the door he tried a window and was shot twice in the leg by the 28-year-old resident.
Investigators found the resident was legally growing medical marijuana.
