BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) -- Bellingham police say a would-be robber fled from a convenience store after the cashier pulled out a stick-like object to defend himself.
Police spokesman Mark Young tells the Bellingham Herald (http://bit.ly/rqN7z2) that the man entered a Supergas convenience store on Samish Way early Tuesday, picked a few items from the shelves, when approached the counter and demanded money.
Young says the man had not shown or implied that he had a weapon. He got no money.
