BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Cleveland Browns starting left guard Eric Steinbach left practice with a back injury that’s not believed to be serious.

Steinbach was escorted from the field by a trainer about halfway through Wednesday’s morning practice. The nine-year veteran missed the first few days of training camp with a knee injury.

Browns coach Pat Shurmur said Steinbach’s back tightened up. Also, Shurmur downplayed hamstring injuries to running back Peyton Hillis and safety T.J. Ward. Shurmur said Hillis, who rushed for 1,177 yards last season, “felt” his hamstring toward the end of practice. Ward had his hamstring wrapped during the workout and was kept out of 11-on-11 drills.

Linebackers Scott Fujita (thigh) and Chris Gocong (stinger), tight end Ben Watson (hamstring) and wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (leg) were the other notables not to practice.
