KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen was hit in the head by a thrown object during Wednesday night’s game against Portland.

Video replays showed the Danish keeper grabbing his head and falling to the pitch, where he lay for 4 minutes. He was hit shortly after Graham Zusi’s 25th-minute goal put Sporting up 1-0 and was able to continue playing after being examined by medical personnel.

Police converged on the stands behind the Sporting K.C. goal after the incident and several fans were led out. There were no immediate reports of arrests.
