A motorcyclist was injured shortly after noon Wednesday when he lost control of a Harley-Davidson and collided with a truck on state Highway 503 two miles north of Amboy.

Lyle C. Meyer, 56, of Portland suffered internal and left leg injuries, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

Thursday evening, Meyer was listed satisfactory condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Officials said Thursday that they earlier had provided the wrong name.

At 12:03 p.m., the bulletin said, Meyer was riding north, and a 1989 Chevrolet pickup driven by James R. Kimbriel, 62, of Amboy was headed south.

Meyer failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and hit the left-front tire of the truck, the bulletin said.

Kimbriel was not reported injured.

Meyer was ticketed for allegedly driving too fast.

Kimbriel was ticketed for allegedly driving with a suspended license, the bulletin said.
